WHO AM I?

As a professional personal trainer and stuntwoman, most of my life has been spent studying the form & function of the human body. Beginning my career as a highland dancer at the ripe old age of 4, I went on to learn many other forms of dance. Since then I have trained and worked in acting, stage combat, stunt work, and personal training. I have served on the Board of Directors for both London Musical Theatre and Fight Directors Canada, was the development officer for the Banff Centre, and was the artistic assistant for Alberta Ballet.

Over the past ten years, working for several gyms in Canada and the UK, I have personally trained hundreds of people for goals ranging from injury recovery to fitness competitions. With my mantra “train it the way you want it to end up”, my clients not only recover from old injuries and develop stronger, more functionally fit bodies but they also achieve physical skills they never thought possible.

Currently, I am also developing a fitness program for fighters/stunt people that provides a sport-specific system that can be used for both downtime and when it’s not possible to rehearse the stunt repetitively.

STUNT & STAGE

After attending an International Stage Combat Workshop I began my foray into the stunt world. Since that fortuitous week I have since trained with Fight Directors Canada, the United Stuntmen’s Association, and other instructors from all over the world. I have been lucky enough to be a two time recipient of Alberta Foundation for the Arts Grants for continued studies in Stage Combat.

I have worked professionally as a stuntwoman and actor on various film productions, including The Mime Massacre a 2006 short-film winner (Winnipeg International Film Festival & P.I.S.S.) and a 2006 Vancouver Great Commercial Contest winner. I have also worked professionally as a fight consultant and choreographer for several stage productions in Alberta, as an assistant at stunt and fight workshops at various theatre schools in BC and Alberta, and as a guest teacher at the high school level in Alberta and Ontario. My teaching specialty is introductory fighting for youth, incorporating physical activity and fun into the organic nature of a fight scene.
